Book Review: Left Neglected by Lisa Genova

Have you ever read a book that you loved so much you could not wait to share it with others!  I have to say that Left Neglected by Lisa Genova is one of those books for me.  This is the first time I have ever read a book by this author and it is one of those books that you feel so involved in the story you truly want the best for them.

Left Neglected tells the story of  Sarah Nickerson, a working wife and mother of 3 who has so much going on in her life that she barely has time to breathe.  Rushing to work one day and trying to multi task again, she decided to make a phone call and in an instant her life flashes before her eyes and is ever changed.  Sarah survives the car accident, but suffered a brain injury and goes from a women who tr did it all to one now who can literally only see the right side of the world.

I truly believe that every human being can relate to this book as in our current society we are all trying to have it all, but fail to see what the cost will be.   Left Neglected takes you through Sarah's rehabilitation and gives all readers a reminder to slow down and to truly appreciate what is right in front of us rather than thinking ahead about what we can have.  Sarah's body did have to pay a price in order to bring her back down to the fundamentals of her life allowing her to see what is truly important.  However, in my point of view Sarah was paying an even greater price prior to her accident.  I feel as she was making the motions of her daily life, but she was not truly living it.

No matter if your a lover of books or looking for a book to read to start you on your literally journey this book is a must read for all!

Be sure to check out other books I have read this year with the #50bookpledge
