I have wanted to be an author since I was fifteen years old and I'm grateful to have accomplished this dream. I have three wonderful children and a husband who defines the person I am today. I work as an Ultrasound technologist in Sugarland, Texas and enjoy this field.

I have very vivid dreams and a wild imagination. I like to read and watch tons of TV shows and movies. I’m addicted to romance and get a thrill out of action and suspense. I write New Adult Fantasy, Sci-fi, and Paranormal-Romance.
In the Sonar series it was fun to explore different elements of Sci-fi romance and create various realms of powers for my characters. I want to show my readers that Sci-fi can be fun, but also traumatic. I hope you guys enjoy the Sonar Series.

My Review: Once again B Truly was able to keep up well into the night with her storytelling. At times I the story was told and you get to see another side of the story already told in the previous books Sonar The Crashing and Melanie's Evanescent Journey but from a different perspective again.  I found the story in whole to be very entertaining.  I wasn't sure when I started the series if I would enjoy it as I was confused by terminology but I got the hang of reading it really quickly and the story really came together well.  An excerpt from the book I found to define how wonderful her writing skills are is this: "Another contraction condemned me and if I had a laser, I would have blown my head off.  This was unreal.  How could it hurt worse? I doubled over panting".  I have never in my reading history had labour described so well.  I easily give this book a 5 of 5 and look forward to reading the next instalment and the prequel.

Love and Support

One of the most important things you can have when you are trying to recover from grief is the love and support of people who care about you.  In fact, Karen Kain said, "Surround yourself with people who provide you with support and love and remember to give back as much as you can in return."  After my experiences with grief, I am convinced that the only way we survive is by supporting each other.
When my daughter died on September 11, 2001, in the plane crash into the Pentagon, I was struck with such numbing shock and grief that I did not know if I could go on.  I would not have survived, I believe, without the love and support of three important groups of people.
The first was my family.  My husband, son and our extended family drew close to me and lifted me up with their support.  Through the days and weeks that followed Asia's death, I was truly cradled by their strength.  Although each member of our family was individually overcome with grief, together we formed a net that gave each other the support to get through those difficult days.
The second group was my church family.  Our pastor, friends and supportive members gave us the help we needed when it was all just too much to bear.  Asia's memorial service was a testament to the dedication of these people, with tributes speaking of her impact on their lives touching us and making the grief more manageable.  Today, these same people still love and support us, and I love them for the help they have given and continue to give.
Finally, in Asia's death, we discovered that millions of people all over the globe united with us in sorrow and shared our loss.  This third group of people, the citizens of the world, was an unexpected gift of support in our grieving process.  Unlike the parents of some children who are taken too soon, Asia's death was shared by the world because of the manner in which she died.  To this day, people remember her and offer us condolences.
These three groups of people surrounded us with love and support.  During the grief process, having this support network is so important.  Do not turn away from those who want to help you in your own grief process.

Guest Post by Michelle Cottoms author of Asia's New Wings

Review:

I remember getting ready for work that day back in September, just over 14 years ago.  Like many I did not believe what I was seeing was true.  I had gone to work and it was a sunny day and yet the mall that I had worked was like a ghost town.  I lived in another country and although so far away, life from that point on for many people had been impacted and continue to be since that dreadful day.

Asia's New Wings is not only a tribute to a precious life lost too soon, but a great reminder for all of us who go through loss.  Loosing a loved one is hard, but I have never lost a child.  I hope and pray that I never have to feel that pain and sorrow and for any parent that has I personally have no words that would make the pain ease.  Though after reading Asia's New Wings I realize words are not what are important, but showing your love is.  Ensure you grab your tissue box while you are reading as it will definitely be needed!

Book Review: Melanie's Evanescent Journey by B Truly

Release date: April 23 2014
ASIN: B00K1NHOPU

New Adult, Paranormal-Romance Companion novel for The Sonar Series

True Love may cost a price, if the greater good preordains that you are the sacrifice.

There are always two sides to a story. Melanie Wilhelm's begins after she moves from Australia and starts her senior year at Cashmere High. On her first day, she bumps into a mysterious guy, and they form an instant connection. They become friends and he shares his deepest secret with her. As they grow closer, their relationship amplifies and becomes binding. Strange things occur, but instead of worrying, Melanie's feelings intensify.
The excitement of New Year's Eve approaches, and so does Jason's most devastating revelation of all. She learns his ultimate truth and is now spun into his chaotic web. The danger rises and hard choices must be made. By being with Jason, Melanie may have to sacrifice more than her heart. It may cost her life.

Melanie's Evanescent Journey ties into books one and two of The Sonar Trilogy. From spiraling twists to devastating plots, her journey will make you question fate and true love.
Is fate something you can control? Some believe it's in the hands of what you behold.

My Review: This is the second book in the Sonar Series and because I already read Sonar The Crashing by B Truly first I was able to understand the storyline easily.  Per the summary I assumed this was the same story as Sonar The Crashing but told from a different persons perspective.  I was skeptical if this book would hold my interest as I had already read the story from Shiray and Brians perspective but this was from Melanies.  I also will admit from the first book I didn't like Mel very much, this book explored the story from her point of view and I ended up liking her a lot by the end.  I was pleasantly surprised at how B Truly was able to keep the old characters, added new ones flawlessly and also kept similar track of the original story's timeline but also you are able to see what else is happening simultaneously.  I found this book a wonderful read and intend to start the next book in this series tonight.  I give this a 5 out of 5 as it couldn't be simple writing to make this story so smooth with two perspectives. Well done!

My Review: I found the synopsis on the back of this book confusing and the first bit of the book was difficult to understand as I wasn't familiar with terminology of this world but once you became familiar with the characters and the terms it made more sense.  Once I was able to fully comprehend what was happening I began to really enjoy this story.  I think B Truly was very successful in creating a whole new world.  I enjoy a good book where I am able to feel emotions as situations arise.  I was able to empathize for Jason/Bryan as he became unknowingly the centre of a love triangle and had to deal with two loving leading ladies.  I enjoyed the complex development of characters such as Paige/Shiray and Harmony/Syira.  I would give this book a 4 out of 5 as it was difficult in the beginning to understand and if that was addressed the book would easily earn a 5 of 5.  Well written!

Stay tuned for the reviews of the other books coming Sept 11th and Sept 28th!
